Josh King is a 14 year old vocalist, musician, songwriter and actor from Charlotte, North Carolina. A diverse and creative musician, Josh performs many styles of music including blues, jazz, R&B, rock, pop, gospel, country and classical. He is becoming known for his soulful voice and prodigious abilities on diatonic and chromatic harmonicas. He also plays guitar and piano.
Josh began his journey in music at age 6 when his dad gave him a harmonica. At first, Josh taught himself songs on it but later found a harmonica teacher while working as a young actor in New York City.
At age 10, Josh wrote lyrics and a vocal melody to an instrumental song "Blues in My Sleep" by James Cotton at the blues legend's request. Along with James Cotton, the 12 year old Josh received standing ovations for this song when they performed together at the Lincoln Center.
Josh has performed with Grammy winners, Blues and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees and renowned bands. He has performed at blues and jazz festivals, NAMM, in small clubs and large concert halls including the US Open Tennis Championships (twice), a NFL game, the Lincoln Center in NY and for the State of New York's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
